Can You Use a Solar Panel to Charge the Safari ME?
Yes, there is an optional Lion Energy 24V portal solar panel for the ME that plugs directly into the ME solar input via the Anderson(tm) connection input on the back of the ME. You can use up to 6 of these panels to charge the ME and the ME - XP (expansion battery).
You can also use other branded solar panels that are > 36V VMP and < 60V VOC.

I'm pleased with the investment in the Safari ME. Pro: 1. Fast charge with electric outlet 2. I've been able to charge items used for cooking (hot pot, electric burner), hair (hair dryer & curling iron), lights, laptop, cell phone 3. Can be protected with EMP bag 4. Anderson cable allows me to keep the generator inside while connected to outside solar panels Con: 1. Heavy. I purchased a 4-wheel dolly at a hardware store to hold and move it. 2. Slow charge with solar panel. 1 24V solar panel is not enough! The bundle has 6 panels but not everyone has the space to store this. I'm still experimenting with solar charge. Setup of the solar panels is not as easy and quick as I expected since they are heavy and need to be aligned with sun properly.

It was shipped super quick and it performs amazingly well , I got the expansion pack and 6 solar panels, it all works very well. We have an off grid cabin and love the quiet power, we take it in our travel trailer as well , just love it

I was planning to buy a dual fuel generator for months for my house in Miami but for a great surprise I bought the ME generator very skeptical about solar generators. I purchased mine from Costco with 3 extra panels, the first time that I saw the unit at the store I returned home and I did some research on the price and specifications of the unit, I liked what I saw especially that comes with extra panels, I said to my self “If don’t like it I will retuned” no problem with Costco, big nice surprise, I have been using it every where in my house, connecting my refrigerator for 6 hours in one charge, note: (Not every case is the same,it works for me) using the ME with my washing machine. Today the ME was 62 % charged and wash two cars using a 3200 psi pressure cleaner, vacuum the cars inside and I have 10% left, Very very happy with this generator so far so good. I am planning to keep it. I have not used the ME with the solar panels, I’ll let you know as soon as possible. PS : I forgot, I was also charging my I phone while I was washing the cars.
